D.I.Y Ruffle/Pleated Wrap Skirt (McCalls Pattern 7606)
Helloo and Welcome Back to Nichelle B. Blog! Today I’m sharing this easy wrap skirt I made about a week ago. Its really fun and did I mention its SUPER EASY. Honestly I don’t know when the last time I made something this easy was. Wrap skirts are usually a great beginner project, I don’t know why I’ve never made one. This particular wrap skirt is flattering on many body shapes and can be made out of almost any fabric. Lightweight denim, cotton, twill, rayon, would all be suitable for this skirt. I chose a fabric (stretch twill) that is a little heavier, I actually planned on using this fabric for something totally different but I was so pressed to make the skirt and dint want to go to the fabric store. Lol I decided to do pleats in my skirt instead of ruffles but if you use a lighter weight fabric like a rayon you can definitely do ruffles. I didn’t do any precise measuring for the pleats I just tried to make them even and sewed it… I think the pleats look better not so precise, it gives the skirt some character.. lol
If you’ve sewn even a little before on the sewing machine you could probably whip this up in an hour or two.
Is this a beginner project you would try? Let me know in the comments! Happy Tuesday.
